Branding design for Encepta

Defined and shape Encepta's brand both internally and externally by designing the website, graphics, marketing collateral, and other corporate materials as well as looking at the UX of their current technologies with the objective of aligning with marketing and company strategies.

ABOUT

Encepta is a company that reshapes how telecommunications companies design and deploy their fibre optic networks throughout cities.

THE CHALLENGE

As startup companies expand, its services, company culture, mission, and values evolves with it. Since it began, the company has evolved and grown over the years to become an innovative company that offers a variety of services in engineering and tech, with a culture that is built upon embracing and making use of technology to change the way work is done.

The challenge was to define and shape Encepta’s brand to better reflect it’s services and culture by first helping define its values and mission, then developing graphics, marketing materials, and optimizing the UX of their current technologies with the objective of aligning with their marketing and company strategies.

COMPANY VALUES

At Encepta, I was the focal point of the development, design, and implementation of their official company values. During this project, I collaborated with our management team to organize company-wide interviews to establish the initial concepts of our values. We then compiled and analyzed our preliminary data to brainstorm finalized concepts. I then synthesized all of the feedback from our company's team members to create the final values icon designs by ensuring that I got as much feedback as possible during this process. As a key member of the Values Committee, I ensure that the values are integrated into all of our internal corporate materials, external marketing collateral, and verbiage.

WEBSITE DESIGN

My aim through this project was to revamp the website to align with our new mission, values, and marketing initiatives, whilst upholding to a consistent design system throughout the site. The production of the site involved extensive research attained from interviews, feedback sessions, competitor analysis, and other ongoing projects. With this research, I developed a low fidelity prototype on Adobe XD, and after testing I developed and launched the website. Visit the website:

VISUAL DESIGN AND MARKETING

As the main driver of all visual design and marketing initiatives in the company, projects include: the development and design of our core company values; writing and design of digital and print graphics and templates for marketing, advertising, events, and recruitment; redesigning our company website; and launching our digital marketing strategy. One of the challenges of creating the website, flyers, and marketing materials for a tech and engineering based company in the telecommunications industry, is copywriting for such a highly technical field. In order to create content that accurately described Encepta's services, I conducted interviews with specialists and leaders within the company. From this I learned to connect with key stakeholders during every project for feedback and fresh perspectives, and to ensure that our team's goals and vision are aligned.

BADGES DESIGN

The aim of this project was to design skill proficiency badges that employees could earn through training, experience, and quantified career milestones. The badges were designed to be simple, so that any icon could be placed in the middle. Each badge was given a unique name, skill proficiency indicators, and original icons that best encapsulate the skill.

The final designs of these badges were a result of close collaboration with the badges committee, as well as interviewing key individuals who are considered experts in each particular skill. This research was integral to ensuring that the final designs and descriptions best represent the nuances of each skill.
